#edchatie on Bluesky
The ‘Xodus’ of Irish teaching folk continued apace this week, out of Elon Musk’s space and into the much friendlier and calmer environs of Bluesky (of course that can change in time).
Back in the day Fred Boss used to be the ringmaster of one-hour discussions on Monday evenings, and many people miss those. They were often invigorating, always friendly and positive. So as we start afresh on a different platform, how about another go at it?
I have a starter pack on Bluesky of teachers in Ireland if you’re not yet on the platform and are looking for people. And if you’re not in it and would like to be, give a shout.
So I’m proposing having a go again, once a fortnight, during term-time. I’m happy to host the first one, with details in the graphic above, on a topic we should all be interested in at that particular moment.
But I’m no Fred Boss, and will not be ‘in charge’ of this: I’m hoping that there will be a ‘chain’ of hosts leading the way out of each session to the next one, who decide how to settle on a topic. Governance will be totally devolved. Drop a mention on Bluesky, or in the comments below, if you’re up for that.
